2009 NFL Suicide Pick Week 8

Did anyone out there really think Tampa was going to beat New England? Didn't think so.
We can no longer use Baltimore, Washington, Minnesota, Indy, Philadelphia, Pittsburgh and New England.

This week features two huge favorites and both are still on the board for us.  Chicago is home against the lowly Browns and should have no problem winning this game.

San Diego is home against the Raiders.  I don't even think Norv Turner can mess this one up for us. I think the Browns are better than the Raiders so I'm going with the Bolts.

Official pick is the Chargers

Graham Elliot (Chicago) 10/24/09

OUTSTANDING!!!!!!!! The best pork belly dish I've ever tasted.  Menu describes it as glazed with butternut squash, dandelion greens, pepito praline and burnt honey.  Off the charts good.  The chicken fried foie served on a buttermilk biscuit and maple syrup was almost as outstanding as the pork belly.  The chedder risotto with green apples, crispy bacon and cheez-its, the duck confit agnolotti and  the caeser with brioche twinkie croutons were all delicious too.

Graham Elliot is my kind of place and I would frequent GE regularly if I lived in Chicago.  Great vibe, great music, great service, great cocktails and great great food.  GREAT night!!

Hot Doug's (Chicago) 10/23/09

Wow,  waited over an hour in 50°F/rainy weather with the W (minimal to no complaining!! the pre-stop at Chanel and Barney's didn't hurt of course) for a hot dog(s).  They were awesome.   I went with the foie gras and and sauternes duck sausage with truffle aioli, foie gras mousse and sel gris. Ridiculously good.  Chased it down with the Selma Hayek (andouille sausage), and a side of ddduck fat fries.  Mmmmmm.

2009 NFL Suicide Pick Week 7

Still alive.  We've now utilized Baltimore, Washington, Minnesota, Indy, Philadelphia and Pittsburgh.  Indy at the Rams is a logical play if available.  It's not an option for us though so we must look across the pond to the New England/Tampa game.

I don't care where they play this game, Raheem Morris is out of his league here.  Belichick and Pats roll.  If NE and Indy are off the board for you I would give serious thought to the Giants,  Tough trip East for Zona and playing an angry Giants team...

Official pick is....

2009 NFL Suicide Picks Week 6

As we expected, the Eagles and Giants both won easily last week.  Our official pick was the Eagles so they are now off the board along with Baltimore, Washington, Minnesota and Indy.

Week six features some more one sided matchups.  Green Bay is coming off a bye and is at home against the Lions.  I gave Green Bay serious consideration for my official pick but I'm just not sold on Green Bay yet. This could be one of those games that knocks out a lot of people and I don't  want to be on board.

Pittsburgh has not played as well as everyone expected this year but they should dominate at home against the punchless Browns.  This should be a blowout and a possible shutout.

If you have already used Pitt and Green Bay, I would consider rolling the dice with the Jets at home against the Bills or New England at home against Tennessee.

Official pick is Pittsburgh
Good luck

2009 NFL Suicide Picks Week 5

Still alive!! We hit with Indy last week and the other two mentioned games also came through.  No major upsets last week so most survived.  Week 5 features two strong plays with the Eagles at home against Tampa and the Giants at home against the Raiders.  Both should win easily but I'm going with Philly this week as the official pick.
Good luck
