2009 NFL Suicide Pick Week 15

3 more to go.

Baltimore, Washington, Minnesota, Indy, Philadelphia, Pittsburgh, New England, San Diego, New Orleans, Miami ,Dallas, Atlanta, Cincinnati and Tennessee are off the board.

There are three viable options this week for us.

Arizona heads to St Louis.  Short week for Zona after coming off a loss on Monday night.  They are  5-2 on the road this year and should win this one.

Denver is at home against the Raiders.  It appears that Charlie Frye is starting for the Raiders this week.  Denver rolls.

Seattle returns home to face Tampa.  Tampa has been very good to us this year and I expect that to continue this week.  Seattle is not very good but they are better than Tampa and play well at home.  It's a long trip for Tampa and I'm sure the weather will favor Seattle.

I've made my selections each week without looking down the road.  That said, we are close to the finish line and if we make it to week 17 there will be very slim pickings.  At this juncture, Denver at home against KC is the only real strong play.  Thus, I am going to hold Denver.  I also want to avoid getting caught in the big upset trap a la Pittsburgh the last two weeks.

Thus, the official pick is

What are your thoughts on the Houston vs St. Louis game?

Houston is capable of blowing them out and should win this one. I just don't trust them enough to take them on the road this late in the game. I also anticipate that they will be a popular pick this week and I want to stay away from the pack now.
Good luck and thanks for reading

I like Seattle because Forsett has been running well and TB is weak against the run and on the road. I also like Arizona, even though they are on the road. They have a great road record and you know they are gonna be fired up to score and score big after Monday night's debacle. Tampa definitely sucks but Seattle scares me at the same time. I guess if you take the emotion out of it though, you take Seattle and call it a day.

Good seeing you and meeting the Mrs at dinner last night. I thought the meal was incredibly good. It wasn't exactly a Cobaya dinner I don't think (no envelopes really being pushed, little showmanship) but the meal was phenomenal and quite a ridiculous value (I couldve tapped out after course #6).

Seattle was an aggressive play and only one other person selected them. That's what I wanted to see. Most took Denver and Zona. One upset would be perfect. Not sure I will be able to watch that dog game though...

Same here- ridiculous amount of food. Mrs was toast after round 4...
Cobayaesque b/c new and not open but I hear you. I have some ideas for future

The pool I am in is still going. I guess a lot of pools are that way this year. We started with 53 and are now down to 3 players. I just sent in my pick and chose Arizona for this week. My only other worthy picks were Atlanta or SF. I don't know if I can trust Atlanta and I might need SF next week so I am not stuck with Denver as my only possible pick. I know one of my opponents and he will likely pick Green Bay this week. Wish I knew what the other guy will pick. He does have Indy left but I can't see him picking Indy this week.

Crap. The more I think about it the more I think I just blew it with the Arizona pick.

I like Zona this week. That's why I didn't use them last week.... I also like San Fran and Green Bay.
Good luck and glad you didn't play Seattle last week. Happy Holidays to all

I played the Cardinals as did one of my opponents and the other guy chose SF so all 3 of us are going into week 17 still alive. I predict that we all will pick the Broncos and end up in a three way split.

I sure am going to miss this weekly stress. I wish I could find some kind of pool for the playoffs other than one of those stupid "pick-a-square" things.

Have a happy new year!

My plan was to take Denver this week too. If you want to avoid the three way tie go with SF

What do you think is the safest pick between Denver, SF and Chicago? I can decide!
