Alinea v Yankees

Or should I say Achatz v Jeter?? I recently booked my FIRST trip to Chicago and was able to score a reservation at Alinea. (Excited would be a huge understatement) However, I just realized that I may be there during the world series, a potential Yankee world series (go Cubs.. Yankees/day game @Wrigley/Alinea would be an AMAZING bday) soooo if (an if but not a huge if) my beloved Yankees are in the series, do I skip Alinea??? This could be a really tough call. (Does the Peninsula have in-room TiVo's??)

On a side note, I will be there for three nights and I'm leaning toward Rick Bayless' Frontera Grill for night one and Graham Elliot for my last night BUT Kahan's Blackbird is gaining steam on them. Any thoughts/recommendations?

Alinea

Frontera

Graham Elliot

Blackbird

Chicago is my #2 favorite city behind Boston. History, great sports town (and at one point shared baseball misery), great eats. I always have a great time there and the people have a lot to do with that. If it comes down to WS vs Alinea and you choose Alinea, your membership as a man is officially suspended for anywhere from 1-3 years.

No chance I'd miss a Yankee World Series game. That said, I have to tip my cap (based on rep) to Alinea for even making it a potential issue in my mind.
